A few things to know.
How are Icek and Icy related?
Icek is infrastructure for the next generation of human–AI collaboration. Its local-first architecture brings trusted execution, cognition, and memory into everyday work. Icy is an AI partner within Icek, here to think and work with you.
Does local-first mean fully offline?
Project files, conversation content, and memory are stored on your device, not synced to our servers for storage. Online models, MCP, and other connected services still receive the content needed for your task. We retain necessary service data, such as account, usage, and billing records, along with feedback you choose to submit.
Can I use my own models?
Yes. Connect supported model services in Settings, choose a model for your task, and add capabilities through MCP, plugins, and Skills.
Does it remember every conversation?
You approve what becomes long-term memory, and can review, correct, or remove it. Cognition keeps source references and distinguishes AI perspectives from confirmed information.
Can every action be undone?
Checkpoints restore recorded file changes. Terminal commands and external service actions may not be reversible, so review the permissions before execution.
